Robot Unicorn Attack! Beautifully Powerful!

First of all, I'd like to say that this game has been featured previously on sites like Kotaku, gamespot, IGN, touch arcade, and finger gaming. Needless to say, it's very popular among gaming culture, and with good reason. Now, at first glance, this game may look like a girly game, but when they start talking about a "fiery death awaits you" you know it's far away from any gender classification. The breakdown is gonna be- object, idea, and miscellaneous. Prepare for some awesome.

Object

The object of this game is simple yet difficult: Stay alive and get the highest score. By the way, the current high score is 201,421,717; and I usually top out at around 80,000. At the beginning, you don't need to move at all, until the second platform. You can catch butterfly fairies and dash into giant stars (that can kill you if you crash into them without dashing) that seem to be made of pearls or something. you don't need to get any of these, but it helps your score tremendously. The only controls are Z (jump) and X (dash). It progressively gets faster and faster which is how it stays difficult. You continually score points for as long as you can stay alive. You get three lives, and at the end your scores are added together for the total score.

Idea

This game makes you discover a new side of you that you might have not thought existed. Like, say you're a pretty masculine guy who doesn't afraid of anything (intentional grammar mistake for those of you who don't get it), you may discover a that this game can help you get in touch with your feminine side with the rainbows, unicorns, music, and fairies. However, the flipside is that if you're a fairly feminine woman, you could feel that you might have an insane bloodlust contributed to the explosions and stuff like that. It can make you believe in yourself again, and believe that anything is possible.

Miscellaneous

The game is accompanied by the perfect song for this game Erasure's always. It's playing on a loop so if you play long enough you will love it as much as you love [insert favorite song here]. There are also three different versions of the game(regular, heavy metal, and Christmas), all of which are available on iPhone and iPod touch app stores, however, the last is only on the mobile ones for now. The heavy metal one has the song Battlefield, by Blind Guardian, also, instead of fairies, it substitutes in hellish bats. I have yet to check out the Christmas version because I lack an iPhone. So check them out here, the heavy metal version here, and here's the link for the christmas version. Have fun and try not to die!

Generally, it's one of my favorite flash games which is why I chose it to be the first in my POWAH PACK! So needless to say, I have to give it a sc-AAAALLLWWWAAAYYYSS! I WANNA BEEEE WITH YOU, MAKE BELIEEEEVE WITH YOU- *cough* *cough* sorry about that.

A

Coma- Ring the Dore Bell!

First of all, I'd like to announce that... I'm back! Doesn't really matter why I left, but I'm back now and there are some changes. The first of which is that, I'm no longer doing drink reviews. they were, to be honest, too easy, not that I'm saying that ol' Topaz isn't to be respected for what he does, it's just, they were too easy for me. I decided that now I'm going to do flash game reviews. If you don't know what a flash game is, then you are roughly about half of our demographic. A flash game is usually a small game, while they aren't always. I won't bore you with the technological details (mainly because they would most likely be inaccurate) but they are little or big games that you most often play on a computer or smart phone (I think)

Now on to the topic of today's post: A semi-popular thematic flash game from atmos games called Coma. How should I break this down, how about since it's an thematic game, I do story, gameplay, and message. The last shall vary based on the genre of game. Now, for the review:

Story

Coma is a story about a boy who is in a coma and must escape. He doesn't know that, but the ominous writing on the walls and very odd scenery, along with the title, give you a bit of a clue. He also has to explore his conscience to free his sister, who has been trapped in a secret basement by our father. This of course is within the coma. The writing on the wall, constantly bombarding you with the message "ring the dore bell" confuses you, but you ignore eventually. you meet various people who tell you things that you don't quite understand at first, but once you realize what you need to do, some of it becomes apparent. It has quite a scary and intimidating story. You'll still go to sleep at night, but it'll make you think a lot, and about things that you regularly wouldn't think about. And even though I call it scary, I still see it's whimsical and silly side, as well.

( By the way, there's no scoring system, it didn't really work.)

Gameplay

As for the fact that it is a flash game, it is very limited on what it can do based on gameplay. While some games are more complex with their gameplay, many are fairly simple, point and click interface type things. For this one, however, the latter applies. But since this game isn't really about gameplay, and more about story and message, it shall be exempt from my heavy hammer of judgment. In this game, you solve relatively simple puzzles to advance in the story, gathering little trinkets like a hook to pop a large clog in a drain.

Message

The message if this game can be something as simple as "don't trust something just because it was told you first" or as true to the heart as "Holding on to what's dear to you can help save your life and the ones around you" In no way is this game preachy with their message, it's actually quite subtle. I think that you can take just about any lesson you want to from this game, but my personal favorite is "within the darkness, the light shines brightest".

So, overall, as far as flash games go, this one isn't really half bad. It has a pretty solid story, the gameplay wasn't very important but it also wasn't boring, and it had a strong variety of messages. To be honest, I've replayed it about five times so that I could absorb as much information as I could from it. you can play the game here

I like it, but alas, it's not perfect, so I'll give it a B+. pretty good, but not quite reaching it's potential. If you have a suggestion as to what I should do for my next review, put it in the comments, but keep in mind that I only do computer flash games.

Don't Cha Want a Fanta? - Piña

First, I would like to say, thank you for all of the voting you guys did in choosing our next beverage! Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I have decided to write about the Pineapple flavoured Fanta. Pineapple, while not as uncommon as strawberry is not something that every brand does. Fanta really stepped out of the conventional sense for these cool flavors. I looked on google translate, and couldn't find a definition for "Fanta". This says that It is an original name for this kind of thing, cool. I looked at a local store and found it for $.86 for a 2 liter bottle! While an amazing deal, 7-11s have it for a higher price. So na-na-na-na-naaaa-na!

Taste

This has a very accurate taste in that it actually tastes like real pineapple! Something tells me that they went the extra mile for this one. I actually prefer this to any other beverage I have had in the past (except Virgil's, I love you Virgil's). And for some odd and obscure reason, it reminded me of Brazil and sere de bunda. So I think that it peaked a sort of interest in me that no other soda or otherwise has done before. That being said, I like this flavor a lot.

Texture

Now, I have a bit of a problem writing this, because, I bought this last week and have been sipping on it here and there, so it might have gone a little flat. But, from what I remember, it started off light, so it can't be much worse. It is actually pretty smooth, almost syrupy, in a distorted sort of sense. But either way, the correspondence with the flavor is great. By the by, for those of you who don't know, to me, flat soda is just juice. So texture doesn't really matter to me in any deal-breaking way. But, regardless, it still works well.

60/100

Packaging

My packaging is a little different. It took me a while for me to find it. I think that it's an older bottle (or newer) that isn't used mainstream anymore, (the pic attached is the one I have) one side in Spanish, the other in English, with a weird looking butterfly and flower I think it might be a my coke rewards promotional bottle. It's a little more cartoony and less mid-90s. since mine is'nt likely to be around for too long, I can't say much that will be too relevant in the future. so I'll leave it here.

52/100

Overall

I liked it a lot from the beginning, and all the way to the end. it was a kind of thing you have to try if you already haven't. So many things are so great about it it's hard to make out the flaws. it is definitely something I'll try again sometime.
